The road is wide and no vehicle congestion. The ride is pleasant as it is not warm due to the daylight. There are no crowded zones. People don't get much on the road as well as cars. The stress is taken care of. Those are some of the reasons I work the night shift to make a living. I work as a freelance food courier. I'm in charge of my own time. I work whenever I want, although there's no easy way to make money as the saying goes. I know you all agree that work should only be fun when you appreciate what you're doing.
Have you ever seen the beauty of food delivery? Food is our core needs, many still want to buy food, even at night.. I've had various customers served by overnight delivery. Some good guys even tip. I'm not suggesting that people who don't tip are not nice. I mean, the different customers that I am referring to are those like me who also have their job at night, partying with their friends, others just stay awake and get used to having a midnight snack. There's also a chance that when you're out of luck, the client comes at you in a dark mood, and turns their furious mind towards you. These are things that you must know before deciding to work as a night delivery runner.
1. Get some sleep.
Sometimes I sound like a vampire, sleeping in the morning, waking up at night. Lol. It's very important to have enough sleep for riders such as myself. In fact, rolling on two wheels is quite dangerous if the body is not conditioned.
Our brains don't work well when we don't have enough sleep. As a result, the response time slows down. We need to know whether there are signs of drowsiness to find out if we need to stop driving to get some rest and avoid the accident it may cause.
These are common signs that you are drowsy.
- Heavy eyelids causing blinking more often than normal.
-You may not be aware of what you're going through, like potholes and bumps.
-From time to time yawning and as a result, you lose focus.
These signs must not be ignored, in order to avoid a potential accident. If you can't handle it, just give it a moment and rest.
2. Knowledge of basic repair.
Readiness is also important. You need to have the fundamentals of repair. There are events that we do not anticipate, such as a flat tire or a sudden car stop. We know that the workshop is often closed at night. They often go out of business early. You ought to be prepared. It is comparable to a war with no ammunition.
You don't need to be a professional mechanic. It is enough to know the necessary bases in case of emergency. My advice is also not to regret investing in repair tools. It will not make sense if all you have is knowledge, but you do not have the proper tools to fix it. A few things you need to know.
Disassembly of tires for puncture repair or interior replacement.
This is the frequent glitches that happen on our trip that we don’t expect. When our tire's punctured and deflated. It will be difficult to control the wheel and we are at risk of being injured.
Replacing the chain or belt.
If the chain or belt of our motorcycle breaks, we will not be able to operate it because the chain or belt connects to the engine and the wheel through the sprocket.
Replacement of the headlamp bulb.
We know how much light matters at night. It's for us to see in the dark the way to where we're going. There are times when our headlamp may burn depending on the circumstances. It is better to be prepared.
Remember that in the event that it breaks all of a sudden. Find somewhere safe where you can hang out. You will feel more secure if you know you have the equipment and knowledge in an emergency situation.
3. Have a bite before you go.
Food matters for our bodies. It's hard to have an empty belly. Keep in mind that you use a motorcycle, so when you are hungry, there is a trend for dizziness. This can lead to an accident and is also one of the reasons why we lose focus.
Food is about boosting the energy we use for our work. Not just the driving will be affected., Keep in mind that you will be delivering food to your client. Regards & courtesy add 5 stars to your profile. When you're not energized enough, it is likely to cause laziness.
Rapid exhaustion is also one of the effects of an empty belly. As a freelance, the income depends on each job order you receive. And because you wear yourself out quiker you'll stop working faster, the outcome will be a lower income for your family, which should be sufficient if you have the energy to be able to work.
4. Don't drive when your night vision isn't good.
Obviously, the morning is different from the night. In the morning you can see everything well, contrary to the night where everything is limited because the only light you have on the road is your headlight. So my advice is that if you have an eye conditions do not drive a motorcycle at night as your job.
It is important to see clearly at night. It allows us to see the warnings, the road signs that provide guidance to prevent accidents. Particularly when the region is curvy and there is not much light on the road. Sudden animal crossings are sometimes an event that cannot be avoided, but if seen earlier, they may be prevented from being injured. Not only animals but also people suddenly cross paths, because of poor night vision, they may not be noticed right away to respond more quickly.
5. Be aware.
Impaired driving occurs mostly at night. Drivers are the ones who turn the road into a racing circuit. Take courage in alcohol and not driving properly. You should be on the lookout for these people; they are the ones who often have accidents or are struck on the road.
If you encounter such drivers. Be conscious, step aside for a minute and let them through. Do not attempt to hit and race. You didn't work to fight 'em. Think of your family, you can't win with these people, they only make a mess. The person who is drunk is courageous and loses fear so it is better to choose to be calm and let them. And if you happen to be in over their heads. Do not argue and the most efficient way is to bring it to the attention of the competent authority.
6. Retain focus.
Keep your heads up, don't let the mind fly. Keep your eye on the road, and on both mirrors. There are cars that you do not notice are just beside you.
If you want to prioritize your job, you need to stay focused. It may also help you overcome any distraction along the road. Things that one should not pay attention to and whose mind should focus only on the way. Another thing is for you to do your job correctly, from checking if your client's order is complete until you deliver it properly.

7. Slowdown.
You have nothing to hurry about. Keep in mind, you have a family too. What's important is to deliver your food properly. Avoid overspeeding. It is a cause of accidents as well.
Every thing in this world can be replaced except life.
Our primary concern is our safety. Ride gently and accordingly. Don't rush, just in case there's any unforeseen glitches., explain it appropriately to your customer, They'll listen to you. Value your life, You got family waiting for you at home.
Every thing in this world can be replaced except life.
8. Don't be nervous
Don't get all jumpy. You won't be able to concentrate if you're nervous. There are situations where you might be surprised by another vehicle popping up or people suddenly crossing over. So they tend to go unnoticed. If you're not focused, you risk an accident.
9. Check the vehicle prior to use.
Inspection of the motorcycle prior to use is preferred. In particular the brake; to ensure that the motorcycle has the ability to stop. Check if the headlamp is dirty, as it will cause poor lighting on the road. You'll have a hard time driving and looking.
10. Pray
Prayer is first and foremost the most efficient protection. Nothing is more powerful than God's protection. Always pray before you leave and give thanks as you have come back alive. It's the one thing you should never forget.
Call for presence of mind. You are able to do your job properly. Keep away from perdition. There are things we cannot avoid, seek the courage to overcome them all.
"The Lord will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore."
Pslam 121: 7 - 8
I hope I've been helpful with some advice. Let's consider our lives as one. Make the most of it because it's so short. Don't stress yourself out on the job. Yes, you have a lot of income, but you are suffering from excessive stress. You don't like your job, you're just forced by a big bid. Yes, you earn a great deal of money, but you pay more for the hospital. Think of this as well. Income is of secondary importance. The first thing is that you should be pleased with what you are doing; and always be careful, regardless of the job you have.
